Barbara Ehrenreich on Abortion

"The one regret I have about my own abortions is that they cost money that might otherwise have been spent on something more pleasurable, like taking the kids to movies and theme parks."

Despite my unwillingness to accept what I think would be the disastrous consequences of continued Republican rule and vote solely on abortion considerations, this attitude indicates a profound moral mental block.

Not only is it a moral mental block, it is completely unhinged. I mean, does she really think that the only bad side to abortion is that she could have spent the money elsewhere?

And her example is stupid: spending money on taking the kids to the amusement park? Lady, if you had a few more abortions you wouldn't have any kids to take to the amusement park.

When you read stuff like this you have to wonder what the surviving children think.

Maybe she is teaching her children to be thankful she didn't spend the money to abort their siblings. After all now they can use that money to see Spiderman 2!

I don't mean to be disrespectful about a serious topic, but its hard to address such absurd comments without becoming so yourself.
